OUR CREDO
Spada is a long-established company in Magherno, near Pavia, which has formulated, produced, and sold livestock feed since 1972.
We produce feed and supplements for farm animals, and our strength lies in our very advanced specialisation in food for dairy cattle. Our dynamic and enterprising team develops innovative methods based on the study of metabolic balance, a condition leading to the highest level of health and productivity of dairy cows. Every day, we help breeders increase their standards of quality and efficiency and improve the profitability of their businesses, offering services based on attention to detail, expertise, and professionalism.
Our Values
With innovation, commitment, and passion, we:

OUR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
Technology has always been one of our strengths. New Wave Technology, developed in collaboration with international research centres, is an innovative method based on achieving a mineral balance known as mineral homeostasis in the bodies of animals. This technique allows us to identify the actual mineral needs, mineral sources with greater bioavailability, and to obtain important information on the metabolic efficiency of the diet.
Personalised formulation
Precise balancing of the diet
Reduction of harmful emissions
Reduction of waste
New Wave Technology is used to personalise the formulation for each farm, leading to the highest level of dairy cow health and productivity. A precise dietary balance leads to higher profits because it prevents nutrient deficiencies that would otherwise compromise the animals’ health, while avoiding waste, a typical cause of economic losses. It is also a valid way to reduce air pollution, because a perfectly balanced diet can help contain harmful atmospheric emissions. In this regard, the greenhouse gases (GHG) emitted by cows (carbon dioxide, methane, and ammonia) are measured directly at livestock farms where Spada products are used.
